Jack (Lord of the Flies)

Background Jack is a character from the novel Lord of the Flies. He represents anger and animalistic impulses. Before the boys crash-landed on the island, Jack was in the choir. Jack has red hair. Rising Action Jack does not vote for Ralph to her the leader on the island. He gets to be in his own group. He and his group of choir boys are hunters. Jack wants to hunt the pig on the island. Point of No Return Jack separates completely from Ralph and his group. He and his friends begin to act like animals. They kill pigs and put their heads on spikes. They don't pay attention to the signal fire, even when a ship goes by. Resolution Jack takes Piggy's glasses so only they can start fires. Jack's group kills Piggy with a falling rock. Jack and his group burn most of the island to track and kill Ralph. Jack is ashamed when an adult military officer lands on the island and catches them behaving like animals.
